International Indigenous Peoples Day 2024. This international day of the world’s indigenous peoples 2024 is focusing on ‘protecting the rights of indigenous peoples in voluntary isolation and initial contact’. There are an estimated 476 million indigenous peoples in the world living across 90 countries.
It aims to ensure a coherent approach to achieving the ends of the un declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples, including through improved support to member states and indigenous. The international day of the world’s indigenous peoples takes place annually on 9 august to celebrate indigenous peoples and their knowledge.
